Why is it so hard to find a band?

I am a drummer but I just can't seem to find a band. Most of the bands or musicians in my area all sound the same and that's something I hate when a band lacks originality.. I mean you have to at least try to develop you're own style am I right? I have been trying kijiji and the guys I do actually try to jam with either totally suck or they are good but we don't like each other and can't seem to get along. It's just frustrating, sometimes I think I am better off without a band if I can't get along with anybody or meet a musician that doesn't suck. Another thing holding me back is that I live 30 minutes out of the city where most musicians are so not a lot of people are willing to make the drive to my house.. but that's not the main problem I had 3 guitar players come to my house so far and none of us got along. I am a pretty nice guy actually im laid back and I don't fight with people, but the guys I jam with are just total douches.
